Andrew Clouston is a lending–technology operator and advisor with more than two decades shaping how credit is originated, assessed, and serviced across AU, NZ, and UK. A former mortgage broker turned fintech executive, he's worked on both sides of the decision-making table—building products and selling into banks, and, later, buying and implementing technology within a bank. That "dual-lens" experience underpins his practical, no-nonsense approach to modernising credit.
Andrew's career began in the mid-1990s at the very start of Australia's mortgage-broking industry. He founded and exited his own brokerage, an experience that forged a long-running obsession: removing customer pain from lending by replacing slow, document-heavy processes with reliable data and automation (think open banking and now AI). From there he stepped into senior leadership roles across the lending value chain, including Managing Director at Club Financial Services (2002–2010) and Executive GM, Retail Distribution at Firstfolio (2010–2012), followed by consulting assignments.
